Windy Day along Sculpture Point North of Black Point Yellow Lupines in the Wind

In the last few posts I’ve been ducking the wind in favor of the forest, so now I thought I’d share a little taste of the windy coast.  These shots were taken near Sculpture Point here on Sea Ranch.   Even the gulls were getting blown around pretty well, as were the Yellow Lupines.  After taking the middle shot I climbed out from where I was shooting and as soon as I stood up the wind took the hat off my head.  My sunglasses, which were propped on my hat, were thrust over the cliff in a second.   Lesson learned.  But it was fun to get out there and try to capture the wind rather than avoiding it.   A steady diet of it however would get old.  It beats your body and your equipment; I was constantly wiping off the lens filter to keep it free of salt-spray.  But I feel like I get to live in paradise, so it seems rude to complain about it.  I just hope you enjoy these little snippets of life here on our windy coast.

Equipment: Nikon D3s; Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 lens

Lovely. I so enjoy experiencing these visions through your lense and words.
    Were the sunglasses expensive ones?

These are great. Nature can surely make you feel puny, when you take in large chunks of it all at once. How did shoot the yellow lupines? Very nice work on that one!
